Welcome

Dear fellow Clinch Countians and visitors,

On behalf of the Clinch County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, I would like to welcome you to the Clinch County Chamber of Commerce web site. We appreciate your interest in the Clinch County Chamber of Commerce and have designed this website to provide useful contact information for our member businesses and links to other important community websites. Useful information about Clinch County’s offerings are also provided. Whether you're a life-long Clinch Countian, a newcomer to our community, or someone who just wants to know more about Clinch County, we hope that you find the information on this site helpful.

Before you begin exploring our site, let me take this opportunity to highlight some of the exciting developments in our community.  We are currently undergoing drastic changes in our transportation system due to the widening of U.S. Highway 84 and U.S. Highway 441. All around Clinch County, change is evident on our roads as the construction process is in full swing. While construction of other areas within the county is ongoing, construction within the Homerville city limits is officially complete and the city can begin to reclaim it’s downtown district.

The disheveled downtown district that was left in the wake of the construction process will soon give way to an unique, vibrant downtown destination thanks to a generous grant. Focusing on the re-design of sidewalks, street lighting, landscaping, and parking , the goal of the project is to improve the appearance of the business district in a manner that compliments the existing property. The project will also focus on the addition of trees and other landscape elements to the downtown area to help promote the city’s natural charm.

In addition to our downtown revitalization, the county has also experienced a significant boost in economic development. Many of our local industries have announced plans to expand their workforce and operating space, and we have welcomed a number of retail business in the past year. Our local officials continue to work on bringing new businesses to our county, and we hope to have more retail growth, including the opening of a new grocery store, in the coming year.

At the southern end of the county, things are also changing for the better. In addition to the  Suwannee River Visitors center that was opened in 2004, the Department of Natural Resources latest project to embrace energy efficiency is the construction of a self contained Eco-Lodge and convention center. The center which is scheduled to be completed later this year will offer three conference  rooms, a caterers kitchen, and covered walkways leading to ten cabins that can simultaneously sleep 60‑65 people.  Tourism officials estimate that the new facilities will bring thousands of tourists to Fargo and Clinch County a year, and we are looking forward to hosting these visitors and the positive economic impact it will have for our citizens.

So, whether you're planning a visit our area for only a short time or are thinking of relocating to the area, we are confident that our business community can make your time here pleasant and productive. Come experience what Clinch County  has to offer; I know you won't be disappointed.
